Alexis is a product designer and furniture maker based in Montreal, Canada & Lausanne, Switzerland. With more than 5 years of experience in furniture making, he graduated from École d’Ébénisterie d’Art de Montréal (EEAM) in 2017. He pursued his studies with a bachelor’s in product design and architecture at the University of Québec in Montréal (UQAM) and then completed a Master’s in design for Luxury and Craftsmanship in Switzerland.
With a background in design and fine woodworking and having collaborated with international brands, Alexis seeks to explore a world where new technologies establish a rapport with manual work to create unique, timeless objects. A way to highlight the inherent value of craftsmanship in a world where digital and machine work dominates. A critical look at contemporary society drowned in consumerism, instantaneity and planned obsolescence motivates Alexis to think of design as a generator of change. A response to the challenges of material culture that offers alternatives and generates forward thinking.
