Tabouret Bonsecours

2020 - Client: Centre PHI
25 x 28 x 45 cm
Pine wood

Echoing the community of craftsman who inhabited the Bonsecours site since the 15th century, this furniture series reveals the contemporary potential of the existing building. Maison Calvet’s frame is put into light, as a way to pay tribute to the craftsman and the architectural know-how of that time. The result is an interplay of scales where the furniture and the building resonate. A vessel that blends time, allowing for the exploration of cultural layers by creating a spontaneous gathering anywhere on the site. A way of supporting the creative process that helps define the potential of the Bonsecours project in the old port of Montreal.
